Here is how you can quickly turn Narrator on and off in Windows 8 and above:

Here is a quick summary of some of the built-in hotkeys you can use to control playback in YouTube. Remember to first turn off the virtual cursor in your screen reader. This is done in JAWS with the JAWS keystroke JAWSKey+Z (which is a toggle).

You can download the AdBlockPlus program to prevent the playing of ads on YouTube and block many other pop-ups from:

AdBlockPlus works in many browsers including Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, and more.

You can also use the ResearchIt utility found in the JAWS screen reader to quickly do a search on Amazon. To use ResearchIt in JAWS follow these steps:

  1. Hit JAWSKey+SpaceBar (to enter the Home row Utilities)
  2. Hit R (to select ResearchIt)
  3. Enter your product in the search field
  4. Tab to the list of providers of search results
  5. Arrow down to Amazon (or use first letter navigation by hitting A)
  6. Hit enter and you will be provided with a list of search results from Amazon

You can also use the JAWS ResearchIt feature to search for weather, football scores, dictionary entries, and much more.
